Australian products have an international reputation for being clean and green. The harsh Australian climate has driven innovation and Australia is highly respected for its sun protection products recognised for their adherence to stringent standards as well as its anti-ageing products.

Australia has significant gold mining and refining capacity and is a leading supplier of gold to the Indian market for further processing, Australia also has unique gemstones (eg opals), sapphires, diamonds and pearls which are exported globally and finished into unique pieces.

 

Australian jewellery designers are known for their contemporary outlook in design and in using precious and non-previous metals and stones.

 

Homewares and Furniture

 

Australian gifts and homewares differentiate from other products on the market with original design and innovative features.

 

With unique timbers such as the Victorian Ash soft wood and Western Australian Jarrah hard woods, Australian furniture is considered to be value for money with high quality and finish.

 

Franchising

 

The Australian franchising sector has around 960 business format franchises in Australia with an estimated 62,000 units operating and employing around 430,000 people. Almost half of Australian franchises are in the retail sector (food and non-food), followed by property and business services (21 per cent) and personal and other services.

 

Australian franchises adhere to strict industry codes of conduct on par with world''s best practice. Many Australian franchise systems have been operating for more than ten years in Australia and have successfully been adopted in overseas markets. Around 27 per cent of Australian franchise systems have international operations, contributing millions of dollars in export income from royalties and franchise fees.

 

This track record enables Australian franchise systems to be effectively adapted to local market requirements.
